Ponsonby Doctors (PD) is the brainchild of a group of Urgent Care doctors in Ponsonby, who had the vision of creating a clinic that could cater for any patient, with any health issue, at the time when they needed medical care.  

It would be a clinic where patients could obtain same-day  bookings easily by booking directly online, or walk in and be given a time to be seen during the same day, without long hours of waiting in line.

It was our vision that patients would be given expert care by skilled and experienced doctors, who would have the time to discuss their concerns and provide practical solutions, or referral on to a specialty if more advanced care was needed.

While we are also an enrolling practice, it was important for us to be able to provide health care for walk-in or casual patients, and to liaise with their GPs with regards to ongoing care.

Another part of our vision is that PD would also be a one-stop shop clinic with regards to the provision of radiological services, to aid in the diagnoses and treatment of accidents, injuries or medical conditions, in particular certain ones that needed an urgent diagnosis and treatment. Having an in-house radiology service meant that patients could have their imaging done on a timely basis; while having an in-house medical team meant that patients were able to have their imaging read, and advice as well as treatment given during the same visit.

The inspiration for this clinic was born in April 2020, and 2.5 years later, Ponsonby Doctors clinic finally opened its door to welcome patients.

Our group of doctors are highly skilled, vibrant and  dynamic, with at least ten years of experience each, having worked in a variety of areas of medicine respectively, before coming together to form this clinic. We are supported by our friendly and capable administrative staff, who are always happy to help you with bookings, and answer any questions you may have.

We also had a second clinic branch in the Viaduct precinct, to cater for our corporate clients and international travelers. However, this was lost as a consequence of the pandemic affecting staffing numbers and is now closed at present.

We hope to be able to provide an excellent health service for Ponsonby, the Viaduct and beyond, and look forward to meeting you and your Whanau.
